Inaugural Science Communication Award: Accepting Submissions

Know someone who effectively shares scientific work in print or on social media? Nominations are now open for our inaugural Science Communication Award! Submit by Jan. 17, 2023.

We're excited to announce that nominations are now open for our inaugural Science Communication Award! If you or your colleague are skilled at breaking down complex gene and cell therapy topics, tell us by Jan. 17, 2023.

The award will recognize scientists who do an outstanding job of communicating their work, particularly those who speak to a broad audience of scientists and non-scientists.

Award Categories

Nominate yourself or another ASGCT member for the award in one of two categories:

  • Traditional media channels: materials in print
  • Non-traditional media channels: teaching children in a creative way, or using social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, or YouTube to cover a meeting

Your nomination letter should be no longer than 500 words. 

Nomination Criteria

To be selected for the award, nominees must be:

  • Nominated by an ASGCT member in good standing (self-nominations are accepted)

  • Involved in scientific communication to a broad audience

  • Willing and available to share their work in webinar form

The recipient(s) will receive an honorarium of $2,500 and complimentary registration to the 26th Annual Meeting.
