Career Development Awards

ASGCT will award a $100,000 Career Development Award in each of the following six broad topics (up to six total grants):

  • Viral Vector Development
  • Gene Targeting and Gene Correction
  • Oligonucleotide Therapeutics
  • Cell Therapies
  • Immunological Aspects of Gene Therapy and Vaccines
  • Synthetic/Molecular Conjugates and Physical Methods for Delivery of Gene Therapeutics

NEW IN 2024:

ASGCT has partnered with the Focused Ultrasound Foundation (FUS) as part of a shared mission to drive scientific research and funding, FUS has committed to supporting up to three additional $100,000 Career Development Awards. The Foundation’s mission is to accelerate the development of new applications of focused ultrasound and its widespread adoption as a standard of care.

ASGCT is proud to continue our partnership with the Children's Tumor Foundation (CTF). The CTF has generously agreed to support up to two $100,000 Career Development Awards.

Underrepresented Populations Fellowship in Gene and Cell Therapy

ASGCT provides awards to postdoctoral or early-career member-researchers from groups that are underrepresented in the scientific workforce, including individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, and women.

Some populations are underrepresented in the scientific workforce, specifically in the number of postdoctoral fellows transitioning into faculty positions. ASGCT will award up to two $100,000 awards to U.S. citizens who are postdoctoral or early-career member-researchers from groups that are underrepresented in the scientific workforce, including individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, and women.
