The Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting and advancing the Society’s development and fundraising efforts including solicitation efforts, communication, logistics, and relationship cultivation with supporters and potential supporters.

About the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy
ASGCT is the primary professional organization for gene and cell therapy, with a broad membership base including scientists, researchers, physicians, patient advocates, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology professionals. The mission of the Society is to advance knowledge, awareness, and education leading to the discovery and clinical application of genetic and cellular therapies to alleviate human disease.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Manager of Development in carrying out the annual fundraising campaign in line with the Society’s strategic plan, focusing on improving existing efforts and creating new supporter opportunities.
  • Support the development and revenue goals of the Society with direct solicitation, outreach to new prospects, and communication with supporters.
  • Prepare and submit sponsorships for payment processing, execute sponsorship logistics, and maintain files and systems to track all development activities.
  • Coordinate and administer advertising sales and logistics for Society e-newsletters.
  • Assist the Meetings and Events team with logistical considerations that may impact or inform sponsorship, exhibits, and advertising.
  • Work with the education team and the marketing/communications team as needed to ensure appropriate collaboration for events and development.
  • Answer supporter calls and emails with an excellent customer service attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize to meet multi-faceted and sometimes rapid deadlines.
  • Acute attention to detail and a high level of accuracy on outputs.
  • Able to work successfully in a team environment.
  • Ability to build relationships with donors and attendees at Society events
  • Zero to three years of relevant work experience, ideally including fundraising or sales, grant administration, and familiarity with nonprofit organizations.
  • Travel Up to 2 weeks per year.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
