Development Manager

Hybrid remote in Waukesha, WI


The American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ASGCT) is seeking an outgoing and highly motivated Development Manager to join our team. In this role, the Development Manager is responsible for managing and advancing the Society’s corporate development efforts, sponsorship, advertisements, and exhibits, including solicitation efforts and relationship cultivation to meet and exceed revenue goals. This position will report to the Director of Development to successfully create and execute campaigns aligning with ASGCT’s strategic plan.

Primary Responsibilities

  • With direction from the Director of Development, assist in the design and implementation of the annual fundraising campaign in line with the Society’s Strategic Plan, focusing on improving existing efforts and creating new supporter opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate the mission and vision of the organization with stakeholders and supporters and represent ASGCT at partner meetings and exhibitions.
  • Manage Annual Meeting and year-round sponsorships, exhibits, and advertising sales. Including setup of exhibits/sponsorship system, monitoring purchases, ensuring package benefit administration and serving as the main resource for exhibitor and sponsor needs.
  • Manage communications and prospecting for current and prospective corporate sponsors and advertisers with a relationship building mindset.
  • Collaborate with the Education team to understand the audience, gather data and other information necessary to solicit support, in order to design new and improve current opportunities to target supporters.
  • Update prospectus designs and collateral to facilitate solicitation.
  • Monitor development budgets, percent profit, and provide appropriate tracking and trending reports in areas of responsibilities.
  • Maintain the iMIS database, reports, and dashboards in areas of responsibilities.
  • Assist the Director of Development in individual giving campaigns or planned giving campaigns as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize to meet multi-faceted and sometimes rapid deadlines.
  • Acute attention to detail and a high level of accuracy on outputs.
  • Able to work successfully in a team environment while working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience, ideally including grant writing, development and fundraising, association management, and familiarity with nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience with non-profits, associations, or academic institutions strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 4 weeks per year.

Salary

The annual salary for this role begins at $60,000.
