Registration for ASGCT's 28th Annual Meeting is NOW OPEN! Join us May 13-17 in New Orleans for the premier event in CGT.
Abstract reviewer Dr. Kate Excoffon shares some tips to keep in mind as you work to submit your Annual Meeting abstracts through Jan. 31.
Remember that you are writing your abstract not just for reviewers, but for the whole community, so make sure your specific target and system are succinctly described to set the stage.
In addition to a short background, include methods, results and conclusion(s).
While you can include future directions, reviewers are wary of abstracts with no data or data that are already published or presented at several other conferences.
Images should only be included to clarify a complex concept or method, or to summarize results.
If you are new to writing abstracts, past abstracts are available on the ASGCT website.
Once you have written the abstract, make sure you get several internal reviewers and take all criticism constructively to achieve the best abstract possible – and who knows, you may win an award!
