At-Large Director (2022-2025)


Dr. Asokan is the director of gene therapy and a professor in surgery, biomedical engineering, and molecular genetics and microbiology at Duke University. His research lab engineers synthetic molecular and viral tools to enable gene therapy, genome editing, and related therapeutic platforms. Their overarching goal is to build transformative technologies to enable the clinical translation of genetic medicines.
