How to Use CLEAR Health Pass

CLEAR Health Pass will make your COVID-19 health screening quick, easy, and secure.


All in-person IOVC attendees must provide proof of full vaccination status prior to arrival at the conference. ASGCT has partnered with CLEAR Health Pass to make this process easy and safe.

Here's a step-by-step guide to using CLEAR Health Pass, which will provide secure, digital proof of your COVID-19 vaccination via a free mobile app.

NOTE: Not all providers and geographic regions are supported in the CLEAR app. If your vaccination record is unable to be uploaded into the app, please bring your proof of vaccination to IOVC.

Step 1: Enroll with CLEAR to set up your pre-screening. 

We encourage you to complete this process at least 24 hours before the event.

  1. Download the CLEAR app and tap “Get Started” on the white Health Pass tile.

  2. Click “Have a code?” and enter IOVC2021.

  3. Tap “Enroll or verify in CLEAR” to create your account.

    • New to CLEAR? When prompted, enter your email address, phone number, and have your government-issued photo ID ready to complete enrollment.

    • Already a CLEAR member? Use the email address associated with your membership and snap a quick selfie to verify your identity. 

Step 2: Link your COVID-19 vaccine in Health Pass.

There are three ways to link your vaccine in the app.

  • Upload a photo of your CDC Vaccine Card (Recommended). 

    • When prompted to add your vaccination, select "add your vaccination card."

    • Take a photo of your vaccination card and confirm your vaccine information.

      • Please note, the photo of your CDC card is used to generate a green or red Health Pass. You will not be able to access it again after it is taken.  

  • Digitally link a vaccine.

    • Select your vaccine provider in the menu or by searching "other providers." Log in to your patient portal and follow instructions to securely link your account with CLEAR. The CLEAR app is integrated with select healthcare providers and pharmacies.

      • If you are unable to find your provider in search, CLEAR may not be able to link with them at this time. Please go back and upload a photo of your CDC Vaccine Card!

      • Check that your COVID-19 vaccine appears in your patient portal. If not, reach out to your provider directly.

    • If you find your provider, your results will link automatically. Please note that it may take up to one hour to verify your results within Health Pass; do not try to resync your results.  

  • Use your SMART QR Code

    • Tap "SMART QR Code" and follow the prompts to upload your QR code and confirm your proof of vaccination.  

Step 3: Before arriving at the conference, take a photo of yourself to complete your Health Pass. 

  1. Open the CLEAR app and tap on the white “Your Pass” tile. 

  1. Snap a photo of yourself to verify your identity. 

  1. Tap “Open Health Pass” button to get your result. A green result is required to enter the meeting and must be shown before you receive your badge to enter.
